When: 27 February at 10-11 CET
Link to meeting: https://meet.sgit.se/eu-oss-catalogue-and-onboarding-requirementsOrganized by: This is an event under NOSAD-Nework Open Source and Data organized by Digg and Arbetsförmedlingen with participants from FOSSEPS - Free and Open Source Software Solutions for European Public Services.
As part of the FOSSEPS initiative, the European Commission will launch the EU OSS Catalogue in 2025 to highlight open source solutions developed for public administrations in EU member states. This launch supports the implementation of the Interoperable Europe Act, particularly concerning the sharing of interoperability solutions. The Commission is looking to onboard additional solutions before the launch. As many open source solutions are already listed on Offentligkod.se, NOSAD has been contacted to help spread information about the EU OSS Catalogue.
Main Technical Requirement
The key requirement for onboarding is adopting the publiccode.yml standard, a metadata format for describing public sector projects. The process takes approximately half a day per solution.
During the meetup, we will guide you through the onboarding process:
• How to add the completed publiccode.yml file to your Git repository.
• How the European Commission retrieves the file via the Offentligkod.se API.
• How your solution is federated to the EU OSS Catalogue.Further Reading
